Beef Quality Assurance

Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is a nationally coordinated and state implemented program that is funded through the beef checkoff.  BQA provides guidelines for beef cattle production and raises consumer confidence through offering proper management techniques and a commitment to quality within every segment of the beef industry.  Farmers and ranchers have embraced BQA because it helps them insure the quality of the beef they are producing.  BQA programs have evolved to include best practices around good record keeping and protecting herd health.  When better quality cattle leave the farm and reach the market place, the farmer, packer, and consumer all benefit.  When better quality beef reaches the supermarket, consumers can be confident in the beef they are buying.

BQA certification is available in Michigan through an online training program housed at  Clicking the link below will open the Beef Quality Assurance section of where you can register for and complete the BQA training package of your choice.  Please choose the training package that most appropriately matches your role in the beef supply chain.
